Without a doubt, English has a lot of vocabulary, and not all of it is useful.
High frequency vocabulary includes words that are the most in use in speaking and writing. Low frequency vocabulary includes specialized terms, words that have gone out of fashion, and words that just aren’t used very much.
Studying low frequency words is probably not the best use of your time, but they sure can be funny!
Enjoy this list of low-frequency words that comprise some of the funniest (or rather, funniest-sounding) words in English. They may not be that useful for your personalized vocabulary study, but then again, you don’t want to be a nincompoop and you never know when you might find yourself involved in a filibuster or a hootenanny!
